She worked as a printer at The Photographers Workshop in Covent Garden, London where she won the Young Black and White Printer of the Year Award. Heather did and found she had a talent for it.

After leaving school she had various jobs ranging from working in pubs and kitchens to working as wildlife park ranger, but she didn’t seem to be able to settle to anything, until her mother suggested she take up photography. As a teenager she was into the punk rock scene and was supposed to have dated Billy Idol for a while. Heather has struggled with depression and metal illness over the years.

She’s said she calls Paul ‘Dad’ and she called her biological father ‘Poppa’. Heather is close to Paul who she considers to be her father. (I’ve seen some interviews/articles refer to Paul’s three children (before Beatice was born) when Paul always had four, having formally adopted Heather in 1969 when he and Linda married). Heather is an enigmatic figure because she keeps out of the public eye (as much as a Beatle kid can) and the other members of her family are very protective about her and respectful of her privacy and right to a private life. As far as I am aware, Heather Louise McCartney, also known as Linda’s daughter with Joseph Melville See, Jr (her first husband) and Paul’s adopted daughter is alive and physically healthy and living in a cottage on Paul’s Waterfall estate in Peasmarsh, East Sussex.
